At its eighth edition, the Egypt for the Best Summit, organized by Amwal Al Ghad magazine, unveiled its list of the Top 100 Performing Companies in the Egyptian Market for 2022. The ranking was based on key metrics, including market capitalization, total returns, and growth in revenues and profits.
The summit, held under the patronage of Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, celebrated the most influential companies and figures in the Egyptian economy and public life, recognizing achievements across various developmental and social sectors. The event was attended by senior government officials, economic leaders, policymakers, and top executives from leading companies and institutions.
Eng. Ahmed Samir, Minister of Trade and Industry, presented the awards, including recognition of the top-performing listed companies on the Egyptian Exchange for 2022. Among the honored companies was Abu Qir Fertilizers and Chemical Industries, represented by Eng. Abed Ezz El-Ragel, Chairman and Managing Director, whose leadership has driven remarkable growth and clear achievements both within the company and across the sector.
The summit also highlighted the Egyptian government’s efforts to enhance economic growth and the achievements realized despite global challenges, including the ongoing geopolitical crisis in Eastern Europe. The results reflect the success of economic reform measures over the past years, strengthening the resilience of the Egyptian economy and advancing sustainable development goals.
This edition of the summit carried the theme: “Breaking Challenges and Achieving Success: Strength in an Era of Global Change”, emphasizing Egypt’s ability to overcome obstacles through economic diversity, experience in crisis management, and strong political and societal resolve.
The summit recognized both government and private sector leaders and companies that navigated significant challenges in the past year and achieved strong results in financial performance and strategic initiatives that contributed positively to Egypt’s economy. Key sectors highlighted included real estate, banking, non-banking financial services, energy, industry and trade, and ICT, among others—areas prioritized by the state for future growth.
The lists of honorees are prepared annually in collaboration with investment banks and economic research centers, using criteria such as business performance, financial analysis, innovation, sustainability, and social responsibility. The initiative aims to elevate the global ranking of Egyptian companies, enhance their capabilities, and strengthen their ability to engage with international institutions, reflecting the evolving global economy’s reliance on qualitative benchmarks as a measure of emerging markets’ performance.
