It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the official website of Abu Qir Fertilizers & Chemical Industries Company, a truly industrial landmark and a pioneer in the Egyptian and the Arab Fertilizers industry.
Since starting its first production in 1979, Abu Qir Fertilizers has proudly stood as the first Egyptian fertilizer company to be listed on the Egyptian Exchange, setting the foundation for decades of growth, innovation, and leadership in the production of high-quality nitrogen fertilizers — including prilled urea, granular urea, ammonium nitrate, ammonia, and liquid fertilizers (UAN) — all produced in compliance with the highest international standards and in accordance with a safe, environmentally and socially responsible framework.

Goal of the MONTH
Sustainability Goal 7: Affordable and Clean Energy
The company has obtained the approval of the board directors of the Egyptian Electric utility and consumer protection Regulatory Agency to grant the company a license to operate electricity generation activity from the solar panel station under the self consumption system within the company production plants with the total capacity 2.6 megawatt for a period 15 years.

Circular Economy
Embracing the principles of a circular economy, we focus on resource optimization and waste reduction. Our strategic initiatives, such as the use of green hydrogen to partially replace natural gas, aim to reduce carbon emissions and create a more sustainable production cycle. We continuously explore innovative solutions to minimize our environmental impact, including our Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) unit which treats industrial wastewater.
Climate Change
We recognize the urgency of climate action and have made it a priority to implement solutions that mitigate our carbon footprint. Our projects are focused on reducing CO2 emissions, improving energy efficiency, and adopting low-carbon technologies. Our nitrous oxide (N2O) removal project, the largest of its kind in the Middle East and Africa, reduces greenhouse gas emissions by an estimated 1.4 million tons of CO2 equivalent annually, earning us carbon credits (CERs). We also installed a solar power station to reduce electricity consumption and carbon emissions.
