The Ambassador of Peru Visits the Factories of Abu Qir Fertilizers and Chemical Industries Company
Mr. Eng. Hany Dahy – Former Minister of Transport and Chairman & Managing Director of Abu Qir Fertilizers and Chemical Industries Company, welcomed H.E. Ambassador Miguel Luis Martin Aleman Ortega – Ambassador of Peru to the Arab Republic of Egypt, during a visit aimed at exploring the company’s capabilities, production and export potential, and discussing avenues for mutual cooperation between Abu Qir Fertilizers and Peruvian companies in the field of fertilizer exports.
During the meeting, the Ambassador highlighted that despite the geographical distance between Egypt and Peru, both nations share a rich civilizational heritage, belonging to two of the world’s oldest civilizations that contributed remarkable achievements in architecture, agricultural engineering, and the arts. He emphasized that this legacy continues to shape the identity of both peoples to this day.

Throughout the visit, H.E. the Ambassador viewed a documentary film showcasing the history of Abu Qir Fertilizers and its pioneering role as one of the leading nitrogen fertilizer producers in Egypt and the Middle East. The presentation also reviewed the company’s advanced production capabilities, expansion plans, and current and future projects, particularly in the areas of environmental sustainability, energy efficiency, digital transformation, and the adoption of the latest industrial technologies in line with international standards. The Ambassador also conducted a field tour of the factories accompanied by the heads of the company’s operational sectors.
During the meeting, Eng. Hany Dahy expressed his appreciation for strengthening cooperation with Peruvian companies, emphasizing the company’s commitment to expanding into global markets, enhancing its international presence, and building new partnerships with the Peruvian market and Latin American markets.
He further noted that the company is currently preparing an ambitious strategic plan in cooperation with McKinsey & Company to reinforce its position as a leading regional and international fertilizer producer.

He explained that the company’s strategic plan is centered on achieving sustainable development, environmental commitment, reducing carbon footprint, increasing productivity, diversifying products, maximizing added value, improving energy and resource efficiency, and adopting the latest industrial technologies. These efforts contribute to strengthening the company’s competitiveness, supporting the national economy, and aligning with Egypt’s orientation toward a green economy and its strategic vision.
The Ambassador of Peru praised the discipline, commitment, and outstanding performance demonstrated by the company’s employees during the field tour.
He also expressed his sincere appreciation for the warm reception, commending Abu Qir Fertilizers’ advanced industrial capabilities and distinguished technical expertise, while affirming Peru’s interest in strengthening cooperation with leading Egyptian companies and supporting partnership opportunities.
At the conclusion of the visit, commemorative shields and souvenirs were exchanged between both sides as a gesture of mutual appreciation.
