Future Leaders Development: Abu Qir Fertilizers and the Arab Academy Celebrate the Graduation of the First Cohort of the Leadership Preparation Program.

As part of Abu Qir Fertilizers and Chemical Industries Company’s strategy to invest in human capital and develop a new generation of young leaders capable of supporting the company’s growth and sustainability objectives, the company celebrated, in cooperation with the Arab Institute for Leadership Development at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), the graduation of the first cohort of its “Leadership Development Program,” which was specifically designed and implemented to prepare a new generation of promising leaders within the company.
The graduation ceremony was attended by Eng. Hany Dahy, Chairman and Managing Director of Abu Qir Fertilizers and Chemical Industries Company; Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag, President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport; Prof. Dr. Alaa Abdel Bari, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research; Prof. Dr. Dina Fadaly, Dean of the Arab Institute for Leadership Development; and Dr. Tarek El Bokly, Director of Human Resources at the Academy.
Representing Abu Qir Fertilizers and Chemical Industries Company, a delegation of executive leaders also attended, including Eng. Ibrahim Momtaz, Deputy Managing Director for Plant Affairs; Eng. Ashraf Sabry, Assistant Managing Director for Production; Eng. Hossam Naeem, Head of Abu Qir I Production Sectors; Eng. Hany Diab, Head of Abu Qir III Production Sectors; Chemist Moahed El Sabbagh, Head of Utilities Sectors; and Mr. Yasser El Adawy, Head of Administrative Affairs Sectors.

This program reflects Abu Qir Fertilizers’ strong commitment to developing its human resources and preparing a qualified second line of leadership, in line with its strategy to achieve excellence, sustain growth, and strengthen its competitiveness both locally and regionally.
In his remarks, Eng. Hany Dahy expressed his satisfaction with the success of the program and the graduation of its first cohort, emphasizing that developing and empowering human capital is one of the key pillars of Abu Qir Fertilizers’ strategy, as people remain the fundamental driver of excellence and sustainable success.
He further highlighted that the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport is a distinguished educational and training institution that has successfully established itself as a regional leader in education, training, and capacity building. He also commended the Academy’s efforts, under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar, in developing human capabilities and preparing future leaders.

Eng. Dahy added that the company places great importance on enhancing employees’ leadership, managerial, and technical skills in line with the rapid developments in business environments and modern technologies, thereby strengthening the company’s competitive position and supporting its future plans.
For his part, Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar congratulated the graduates, emphasizing that continuous learning has become an absolute necessity amid the accelerating global changes, particularly in the fields of digital transformation and artificial intelligence. He noted that ongoing training and professional development represent the true guarantee for institutional sustainability and resilience in the face of future challenges.
Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Dina Fadaly praised the fruitful cooperation with Abu Qir Fertilizers, describing the program as a successful model of collaboration between academic institutions and the industrial sector. She stressed that both parties share a strong belief in the importance of investing in human capital as the primary driver of development, innovation, and sustainable growth.
She further noted that the graduation of the first cohort marks the culmination of an intensive learning journey aimed at equipping participants with the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to navigate future challenges, commending the dedication and commitment demonstrated by all participants throughout the program.
The three-month training program included nine specialized modules covering Strategic Leadership, Change and Crisis Management, Organizational Behavior, Financial Management, Negotiation Skills, Effective Communication, and other key leadership disciplines. Participants also underwent a comprehensive professional assessment of leadership and behavioral competencies based on the latest international standards and methodologies.
