Abu Qir Fertilizers and Chemical Industries strengthens its partnership with the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport and advances the deployment of artificial intelligence to empower future industrial talent.
Abu Qir Fertilizers and Chemical Industries, led by Engineer Hany Dahy — Chairman and Managing Director and former Minister of Transport — participated in the 31st session of the Industrial Advisory Council of the Faculty of Engineering, hosted at the headquarters of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport in Abu Qir under the theme “Artificial Intelligence and Smart Transformation in the Labor Market.”
The council convened under the patronage and presence of Professor Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag, President of the Academy, with participation from a distinguished group of academic and industrial leaders alongside representatives of nearly 80 industrial companies spanning diverse engineering disciplines. During the proceedings, the Academy President commended the longstanding and continuous cooperation with Engineer Dahy across the various leadership roles he has held.

In his remarks, Dahy expressed appreciation to the Academy’s leadership for institutionalizing this annual forum as a platform that strengthens Egyptian industry and promotes multi-stakeholder dialogue. He emphasized that the partnership with the Academy constitutes a genuine catalyst for modernization and for keeping pace with accelerating technological change.
Dahy underscored that aligning industrial needs with academic curricula has become imperative amid global transformation driven by advanced industrial technologies and artificial intelligence applications. He further noted that the national strategic direction prioritizes industry as a long-term investment, highlighting the Academy’s stature as a premier knowledge institution in maritime transport and industrial sciences, supported by high-caliber faculty and well-prepared students.

He added that Abu Qir Fertilizers — a national industrial entity with more than five decades of operational heritage — is executing a forward-looking strategy focused on expanding activities and product portfolios while deepening cooperation with the Academy through specialized training programs aimed at developing leadership and workforce capabilities. This framework reinforces the integration of education and industry and maximizes shared value creation.

The company’s participation reflects its commitment to investing in human capital and strengthening partnerships with academic institutions to cultivate talent capable of adapting to evolving labor market requirements, accelerating industrial modernization, advancing digital transformation, and supporting sustainable development objectives.

At the closing ceremony, the Academy President honored Dahy with the Academy Shield in recognition of his sustained national contributions.
