Abu Qir Fertilizers and Chemical Industries Company Signs a Memorandum of Understanding with Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology to Support Scientific Research, Industrial Applications, and the Development of Young Talents.

In line with the Egyptian state’s vision to support community development and strengthen integration between industry and scientific research, Abu Qir Fertilizers and Chemical Industries Company signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST), with the aim of enhancing scientific and research cooperation and preparing qualified young talents capable of competing in the fields of fertilizer manufacturing, marketing, and advanced technological applications.

The MoU signing ceremony was attended by Eng. Hany Dahy, Chairman and Managing Director of Abu Qir Fertilizers, and Prof. Amr Adly, President of E-JUST.

 

Also attending the signing ceremony were Prof. Ahmed El Sabbagh, Vice President for Education and Academic Affairs; Prof. Ahmed Abdel Moneim, Dean of the School of Basic and Applied Sciences (BAS); Prof. Mohsen Ghali, Vice President for Research; along with a high-level delegation.

Representing Abu Qir Fertilizers at the signing were Eng. Ashraf Sabry, Assistant Managing Director for Production; Eng. Mohamed Fawzy, Company Consultant for Plants Affairs; Eng. Mostafa Ibrahim, Company Consultant for Electricity and Instrumentation; in addition to several department heads.

This cooperation reflects Abu Qir Fertilizers’ commitment to supporting the state’s sustainable development plans and contributing to the preparation of scientifically and practically qualified generations capable of supporting national industries and enhancing their competitiveness in local and international markets in accordance with the latest international standards.

The collaboration also highlights the pioneering role played by E-JUST as one of the leading scientific institutions specialized in supporting education, scientific research, and technological advancement through providing an advanced educational and research environment that contributes to preparing distinguished human talents capable of innovation, creativity, and meeting the evolving needs of the labor market and modern industries.

 

In this context, Eng. Hany Dahy, Chairman and Managing Director of Abu Qir Fertilizers, affirmed that this partnership represents an important step toward strengthening integration between the industrial sector and academic and research institutions, contributing to the preparation of qualified talents capable of keeping pace with modern technological developments and meeting the needs of Egyptian industry.

He further added that the company places significant emphasis on supporting applied scientific research and technology localization, particularly in areas related to sustainability, clean energy, and green hydrogen, in alignment with Egypt’s vision for transitioning toward a green economy and enhancing the competitiveness of national industries.

 

This cooperation underscores both parties’ commitment to building a sustainable strategic partnership that supports the national economy, promotes innovation, and bridges scientific research outcomes with industrial needs, in line with the state’s direction toward a knowledge-, technology-, and sustainability-based economy.

The MoU aims to strengthen joint cooperation in several key areas, most notably:

  • Supporting and implementing applied scientific research projects related to the fertilizer industry and associated sectors.
  • Leveraging laboratories and research capabilities of both parties to conduct studies and research related to production processes.
  • Training university students within the company’s facilities to bridge academic studies with practical applications.
  • Cooperation in catalyst manufacturing and recovery, optimal utilization of carbon dioxide, and green hydrogen applications.
  • Providing company employees with opportunities to benefit from postgraduate programs and applied research linked to real industrial challenges.
  • Enhancing the utilization of scientific research outcomes and technological innovations within industrial operations.

The Memorandum of Understanding also grants Abu Qir Fertilizers priority participation and access to research and applied projects related to its field of operation, supporting technology localization and maximizing added value for the national industry.
