Abu Qir Fertilizers Reports Strong Financial and Operational Performance for the First Nine Months of 2026, with Net Profit Reaching EGP 12.97 Billion
Abu Qir Fertilizers and Chemical Industries Company (ABUK) has announced its unaudited business results for the nine-month period ended September 30, 2026, highlighting strong operational performance, the resilience of its business model, and the successful execution of its strategy to enhance production efficiency, maximize returns, and strengthen its presence in both domestic and international markets.
The company reported operating revenues of EGP 31.49 billion and operating profit of EGP 12.49 billion. Profit before tax reached EGP 16.44 billion, while net profit after tax increased to EGP 12.97 billion.
This performance was supported by the consistent operation of the company’s production facilities and stable natural gas supplies, alongside the completion of maintenance and efficiency-enhancement works at Abu Qir Plants 1 and 3. In addition, total sales volumes increased by 22%, while export volumes surged by 55%, reflecting the company’s successful expansion into export markets and its growing international presence.
As part of its strategy to improve energy efficiency, reduce reliance on electricity supplied by the national grid, and expand the use of renewable energy, the Board of Directors approved awarding the second phase of the solar power plant supply and installation project to the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI). The project will have a total capacity of approximately 3 MW and a planned implementation period of 12 months. This initiative is expected to contribute to lower operating costs and a reduced carbon footprint.
Commenting on the results, Eng. Hany Dahy, Chairman and Managing Director of Abu Qir Fertilizers and Chemical Industries Company, stated that the company’s strong financial performance reflects its continued efforts to develop its operational framework and enhance plant efficiency, supported by the adoption of flexible and balanced marketing policies aimed at maximizing returns and strengthening competitiveness.
He added that the results demonstrate the company’s solid operational performance, strong competitive position, and ability to achieve remarkable growth. This performance has been supported by the efforts of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources to ensure stable natural gas supplies, enabling the company to maintain consistent plant operations and maximize the utilization of its production capacities. These efforts have been complemented by the successful completion of maintenance, development, and operational efficiency enhancement works at Abu Qir Plants 1 and 3, as well as the company’s continued expansion into export markets and its efforts to reinforce its international standing.
Eng. Dahy further highlighted that expanding solar energy projects represents a key pillar of the company’s strategy to increase the use of clean energy, optimize resource consumption, and reduce both operating costs and its carbon footprint. These initiatives support environmental and economic sustainability while strengthening the company’s long-term competitiveness.
He concluded by emphasizing that the Board of Directors’ approval of the company’s strategic plan, developed by global consulting firm McKinsey & Company, marks an important milestone in advancing operational efficiency, expanding production capabilities, strengthening the company’s presence in international markets, and diversifying its product portfolio through the introduction of new products with attractive economic potential.
The strategic plan is designed to further consolidate Abu Qir Fertilizers’ leading position in the nitrogen fertilizers industry, support the national economy and Egyptian exports, and maximize shareholder value. Implementation of the strategy is scheduled to commence in the 2027/2028 fiscal year.
