A cooperation protocol has been signed to strengthen the fruitful collaboration between Abu Qir Fertilizers and Chemical Industries Company and Baheya Hospital for Cancer Treatment, within the framework of supporting corporate social responsibility efforts and promoting community health. The protocol aims to implement early cancer detection programs, in addition to organizing awareness campaigns targeting the surrounding communities, with the objective of spreading awareness about the importance of periodic screening and early detection and their vital role in increasing treatment and recovery opportunities. This cooperation reflects the commitment of both parties to supporting healthcare initiatives, contributing to improving quality of life, and enhancing health awareness among community members.

The implementation of the coated urea project with a production capacity of 400 tons/day has commenced, in line with the strategic direction towards enhancing environmental sustainability and achieving emission reduction goals. The project contributes to reducing the product’s emission levels by approximately 40% compared to conventional urea, in addition to minimizing nitrogen loss and its runoff into agricultural wastewater, thereby limiting pollution and improving fertilizer use efficiency.

Abu Qir Fertilizers and Chemical Industries Company shares with the local and surrounding community the celebration of the holy month of Ramadan by distributing food items for families in need, as part of the company’s commitment to supporting food security and promoting the values of social solidarity.

As part of its commitment to social responsibility and community well-being, the company conducted a breast cancer awareness campaign in collaboration with Bahya Breast Cancer Hospital. The initiative targeted female employees and women in surrounding communities to promote awareness, encourage early detection, and highlight preventive measures, contributing to SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being.

Company has obtained the approval of the board directors of the Egyptian Electric utility and consumer protection Regulatory Agency to grant the company a license to operate electricity generation activity from the solar panel station under the self consumption system within the company production plants with the total capacity 2.6 megawatt for a period 15 years.
